Bayley Beach, part of Neville Bayley Park, is owned and maintained by the District for the use of its residents. Sixth District residentsmay obtain permits for beach use by application at the Library starting in May. Life guard services are provided in season from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Children's playground, basketball court, volleyball area and Pavillon Restrooms and picnic tables are available. Five tennis courts, maintained by the Association and leased from the district, are for the use of members. Bayley Beach was once a part of Roton Point Amusement Park, in operation from the late 1800's until late 1942. Other residential areas of Rowayton known as Pine Point, Bell Island and the Beach Association have private beaches which are maintained by the resident associations.

Rules and Regulations for Bayley Beach Park
The park is open, weather permitting, throughout the year. The summer season will commence Memorial Day until September 15. Gates will open at 8:00 AM and close at 9:00 PM. Park hours the rest of the year will be posted. Park gates will be locked during hours when the park is closed.
Sixth District residents and residential property owners and their vehicle(s) with a valid Parking Permit will be admitted without charge, as will the driver of a vehicle who presents a Guest Permit. Resident MUST accompany guest at all times. There is a limit of 5 guests per resident family.
A vehicle Admission Fee will be charged for vehicles without a valid Parking Permit or Guest Permit. Fee schedule- $20.00 weekends and holidays, $15.00 weekdays. Buses will not be admitted. Pedestrians or bicyclists who are not Sixth District residents or property owners will be charged a $10.00 Admission Fee. Bicycles must be parked in bicycle racks.
Persons using the beach are required to follow the directions of the Lifeguards and posted beach safety rules. Persons swimming or wading when a Lifeguard is not on duty, do so at their own risk.
A sign will be posted when a Lifeguard is not on duty. All bathers including small children must wear swim attire.
All children must pass a swim test in order to go to the float at high tide. An adult must accompany each child under 5 years of age in the water. The only approved flotation device is “Water Wings” (arm bands) and may be used only when an adult is in the water with the child. Kick board use must be approved by Lifeguard and used only up to waist-high water.
No sailing craft may be launched from the beach. Only hand-propelled watercraft, e.g., kayaks, canoes may be launched from the beach into the designated water lane. Upon return, the craft may not remain on the beach.
The beach is defined as the waterside of the concrete walk. No eating or drinking or taking glasses, bottles or china onto the beach is permitted. Audio equipment on the beach may only be used with headphones. Ball playing, frisbee throwing, running games and kite flying on the beach is not permitted. Fires are permitted only in fireplaces.
No animal pets are allowed in the park at any time, with the exception of a guide dog for a visually impaired person.
Use of the Little League field is by permit only. Adult/teenage participation is limited to activities associated with coaching, instruction, officiating, etc. Adult/teenage play is prohibited.
Tennis Courts-Only RTA members are permitted to reserve courts in advance. Rowayton residents who are not RTA members may play on Court 5 without charge when the court is unscheduled. Non-residents may play on Court 5 when the court is unscheduled for a fee of $25.00/hour in addition to the park admission fee.
Admission fees may be waived by the Sixth Taxing District Commission for sanctioned group use of the park, such as family groups, Little League games/practice, youth camps, RTA inter-club tennis matches, RCA Lobster Bake, etc.
